Life is turning out to be a fascinating ride, don't you think? The things I was always dead sure of melt away like sugar in a glass of water; other random surprises manifest where least expected. It is dawning on me that God might be somewhat of a trickster....all His love and gentle wisdom seems to be dipped in a chocolate coating of mystery. I wonder about God constantly; talk every day with my clients and friends about His nature; read the Bible, Anne Lamotte, Buddha, and other theological texts, but nothing draws me back into His arms as fast as lifting my face up to a vast starry sky and being completely still. Monte Python, Mark Knoppfler, Andy Goldsworthy, and scuba diving work almost as well. I have come to understand that God is a river of pure love, sometimes gentle and meandering, other times wild and raging. "He isn't a tame Lion" (C.S. Lewis). I want to write about the rebel nature of God, about my own rambling path where I find my Father: nature, art, music, humor and love. Visit my professional profile Psychology Today.
